Samba doido is Portuguese for crazy samba and that’s exactly the genre Azymuth specializes in. The legendary Brazilian jazz-funk trio formed in 1973; the original band members were the late Jose Roberto Bertrami, Alex Malheiros and Ivan Conti. Pianist virtuoso Fernando Moraes nowadays joins Malheiros and Conti to keep the Música Popular Brasileira flame alive. Expect a brew of lush guitar fuzz, tripped out space-funk and psychedelic jazz soundscapes from Brazil’s original samba rebels. The Brazilian legends will be playing live together with DJ Nuts, known for possessing one of the finest, most varied record collections in Brazil.
